Potter Heigham

A few Weeks back I started looking after
a pair of Black Winged Stilts that started nest building
after about a week of arriving on site they mated in the first few days
the male older then a female about a year old as he showed her how to
sit on the nest she layed 4 Eggs over a few days watching most days
their was a third bird that hung around most days and got chased off
by the female most of the time. On the 6 June 3 eggs hatched then the last one
on the 8 of June they are over 2 weeks old now and all doing well
moved from where the nest is to a better covered area feeding well &
Adults doing good on chasing off predators they are still small fluff balls
with long legs.

White-Billed Diver at Bardney Lincolnshire

Waited for the fog to go so left at 10.20am
about 2.30 hour drive to Lincolnshire.
The White-billed Diver can do 50m underwater
at a time so waiting down river works most of the time
about a 4 mile walk to start and find others watching the Diver.
Not a new bird for me but to see one so close is a must.
